The boys have been producing some fantastic results lately - reaching the final of the indoor 5 a side school's tournament and beating their 3 latest opponents 6-0, 18-0 and 16-0...Let's hope they can keep it up until the end of the season!

Our WWII news readers kept everyone up to date with latest goings on...
Meanwhile, the children learned about the 'Phoney War', Hitler, rationing and much more about what war was like for normal people - all through the medium of music and song. The band were even forced to take cover under their own instruments when the air raid siren sounded in the middle of a song!
At 2.30, parents and grandparents joined us for "Books and
Biscuits" and it was absolutely
wonderful to see so many people reading to the children, listening to children
read their favourite books and stopping off for refreshments. There was a great
buzz all around the school and the children certainly appreciated this part of
the day.
James took some time to read more of his latest home reader to his mum!

The children of Phase 5 - 6 have been working on their new maths target - knowing the links between fractions, decimals and %.
To help with homework we have uploaded a chart with all the links the children need to learn and a video to help convert between decimals and fractions.
Our literacy class have been looking at three fiction genres, horror, fantasy and adventure. We have spent this week writing our fabulous stories. We are so proud of our work we have recorded the stories for you to listen to at home.

Year Five will be visiting the youth village in March 2012. While there we will be taking part in a range of activities, including drama, dance and singing. The Youth Village was opened by Ant and Dec and the following video includes their thoughts on the village.

The children in phase 5-6 have been given a copy of the carols we will be singing in our Christmas service. Their homework (until Wednesday 21st December) is to learn the words to these carols. If you would like to see a copy of the homework please click on the link below -
