In Year 5 we have been looking at a variety of adverts. We have worked in small groups to record a radio advert for our own product. Have a listen and see if you're persuaded to buy / join!

Year 5 have been applying their knowledge of electricity to design and make a burglar alarm for a house.
Years 5 and 6 have been learning about keeping healthy. We have looked at the different food groups, the heart and lungs and muscles. Year 5 have created a wonderful display and they wanted to share it with you.
In Year 5 the children belong to a team: Lemony Snickett's Crickets, Harry Potter's Jotters, Frodo's Heroes, Tracy Beaker's Speakers or Alex Rider's Readers. They work together to earn points over the week for good behaviour, excellent effort and hard work. Every Friday the points are collected and a trophy is awarded to the winning team.

Year 5 and 6 worked on the Design Technology topic, Shelters. Before designing their shelters, they carried out research into the different types of shelters. As part of this research, each group constructed a framework using a set of materials (straws, selotape, card and sticky tabs). They accepted their challenge and were able to create a framework, including points that were strengthened to make their frameworks more stable. Here are some of their experimental structures.
