Year 1 and 2 went on a visit to Cullercoats as part of our Seaside topic. We all travelled on the Metro and we all had a fantastic time. At the beach we had a sandcastle competition and we ate chips! It was a great day, we have really enjoyed learning about the seaside!
In Year 1/2 our RE topic is 'Building Bridges'. We have been learning how to fix broken friendships. In groups we all wrote our own Act of Sorrow prayers and then shared them with the rest of the class.
Year 1/2N have been having lots of fun in PE this term. We have been learning how to play games and we have been practising our ball skills. We enjoyed playing 'What's the time Mr Wolf? and 'Creep up on the teacher'.
In year one we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. A couple of weeks ago we went on a shape hunt around the classroom and school, to see how many shapes we could spot! When we got back into the classroom we did lots of different activities to show what we had seen. Some children made shapes from plastercine, and some drew and coloured the shapes they had spotted. Other children created shape pictures using pipe cleaners, lolly sticks and straws!
